We are often asked to explain just how we started, who we saw for financial and other help, and how we generally "got off the ground". Many enquiries come from communities who are hoping to do something similar in their areas ... a weed, like the internet, knows no boundaries!

The Tamar Valley Weed Strategy required, and still requires, a substantial effort from volunteers who put in many hours of work with the sole reward of knowing that they are helping to galvanise a community into addressing a problem that, if left unattended, will have an adverse impact within their area.

Governments, local and federal, are very helpful and encouraging, and it's surprising how often businesses too, will rally to a local community initiative.

We can't issue a "how to" kit, but by going sequentially through some of our 'historical documents' on the left, you will learn how we started, and of some of the problems and triumphs we faced along the way.
